The new Videas platform: everything that changes for you

Were you using the previous Videas platform? Here is what the new one brings you, tool by tool: an app organised into tools, credit-based billing with no plan to pick, selling at 15% all-in, richer channels and AI-translated subtitles.

Were you using the previous Videas platform? Your videos, folders, channels and share links are all still there — and around them, a lot more. This page gathers what is new, tool by tool, with where to find each feature.

An app organised into tools

The left-hand menu brings together tools, each dedicated to one job:

  • Mediasbox — all your files: videos, audio, images, documents. This is where you upload them, organise them, share them and embed them on your site.
  • Scribe — your subtitles and transcripts: generation, translation, review, styling.
  • Channels — your video sites: pages, catalogue, viewers, sales and emails.
  • Analytics — statistics for all your videos, wherever they are watched.
  • Settings — your organisation: members, roles, players, billing, API keys.

In Mediasbox, your files are organised into workspaces — one per team, client or project — each with its own members and its own player and sharing settings.

Billing: credits, and selling at 15% all-in

There is no plan to pick any more. Free, Standard, Plus, Enterprise: the four plans give way to a credit wallet, and everything is open to everyone — selling, the API, your own domain, with no cap on hours or accounts.

Each service is debited as you use it:

Service Price
Video storage €0.20 per hour of video per month
Delivery €0.02 per GB — the first 1 TB free every month
Channel €10 per month
Custom domain €10 per month
Automatic subtitles €0.10 per minute per language

€5 in credits is given every month, and your balance is your ceiling: no surprise bill, ever. You follow your spending day by day and service by service in Settings → Billing, with automatic top-up if you would rather not think about it. → Billing and credits

For sales, a single commission: 15% of the price excluding VAT, Stripe payment fees included. Nothing is added on top, and there is no setup fee. The money goes straight to your own Stripe account. → Commission and payouts

15% instead of 5% does not make it three times as expensive. The previous 5% did not include Stripe’s fees, which were added to every payment (from 1.5% + €0.25 for a European card). And selling required the Plus plan, at €50/month at the very least.

Take a creator with 30 hours of video, her channel and her domain, who sells 30 videos at €10 in the month, that is €300 in sales:

Before Now
Plus plan €50 no plan
Channel, domain and 30 h of video included in the plan €26
Videas commission €15 (5%) €45 (15%)
Stripe fees on 30 payments €12 included
Total for the month €77 €71

And the €5 in credits given every month is not deducted yet: her month comes to €66.

Mediasbox: your files

  • Go back to an earlier version of a video: after you replace a file, every version stays listed in the Files tab, and you restore the one you want. Links, embeds and statistics stay as they are. → Manage versions
  • Several audio tracks on the same video: another language, audio description, an enhanced voice track for the hard of hearing. Viewers pick their track in the player.
  • The change history of every media item, in the History tab: who changed what, and when — including changes made through the API.
  • Saved searches: a combination of filters (type, tags, workspace, has subtitles…) is kept and reopened in one click. → Advanced search
  • A shared tag vocabulary for the whole organisation, which you can lock to avoid duplicates.
  • Before deleting, you see what will go offline: the channels and embeds affected are listed before anything goes to the trash. → Bulk actions
  • Group a selection into a new folder, or copy the details of another media item (description, tags…) instead of typing them again.
  • The storage cost of each file, shown next to it: you know what a clean-up saves you.
  • Documents and audio files readable online: search inside PDFs with an outline and thumbnails, a waveform for audio. → Upload audio and documents
  • Workspaces you can pin, follow to get their notifications, and colour to spot them. → Create a workspace

The player and your embeds

  • A choice of audio track and an accessibility track in the player, on top of subtitles.
  • The transcript beside the video, which viewers can follow or browse.
  • Resume playback where the viewer left off, and an eco mode for weak connections.
  • End-of-video recommendations: up to eight items suggested to keep watching.
  • More flexible call-to-action buttons: they can appear at a given moment, at a percentage of the video, at the start, at the end or on pause. Interactivity tab of the media item.
  • Player presets per organisation and per workspace, which you can lock to keep a shared look. → Customise the player
  • Token-protected embeds, which you create and revoke at will. → Secure an embed
  • An embed script that handles sizing and the pop-up window, and lets your site drive the player (play, pause, position). → Advanced embedding

Your existing embeds keep working: the previous platform’s addresses lead to the new player.

Your shares

  • A maximum number of views per link, on top of the password and the expiry date. → Create a private link
  • Share a whole folder, and add or remove files from a link you have already sent. → Share several files
  • Hide the media details (description, dates) on the share page.
  • Default settings per workspace: how long links stay valid, the logo shown on share pages.

Channels: your video sites

The site itself

  • A full page editor: six starting templates, more than twenty block types (banner, catalogue, FAQ, testimonials, pricing, team, search, “continue watching”…), as many pages as you like, drafts and publishing. → The page editor
  • Your own domain, connected by you in Settings → Domain: you add the DNS record shown, and the channel checks it. → Custom domain
  • Menus, footer, card and navigation styles, and to go further, your own CSS, JavaScript and header tags. → Customise the channel
  • Pages reserved for the subscribers of a plan.
  • Address redirects: when you rename an item, the old link still leads to the right place.
  • Your legal notice and terms of sale generated from your organisation’s details, then published on the channel.
  • A sitemap and robots file produced automatically, so Google finds your content. → SEO settings

Your viewers

  • A personal space for every viewer: pick up where they left off, their favourites, their history, their access requests.
  • Two-step verification for viewer accounts, which you switch on yourself. → Set up sign-up
  • Preview links to show a channel that is still private to a client or a colleague, without creating an account for them.
  • Reply to comments as the channel, and moderate them. → Comments
  • An inbox for the messages sent through the contact form.
  • Uploads from your viewers: a form on the channel, and the videos received land in the workspace of your choice.

Selling

  • Selling open to everyone, from Settings → Monetization, on your own Stripe account, at 15% all-in. → Monetise your channel
  • Rentals by the hour, day, month or year, and a different price depending on playback quality. → Set a price
  • Subscription plans by the week, month or year, for the whole catalogue or a selection, open-ended or for a set number of months. → Create a plan
  • Promo codes as a percentage or an amount, with usage caps and statistics per code. → Promo codes
  • Give a subscription, extend one, cancel one, from the customer’s page. → Give free access
  • A cart: your customers buy several items in one go. → Cart and checkout
  • Sell from your own website: an embeddable player that shows the trailer and the price, and leads to the purchase. → Paid player on an external site
  • A sales dashboard: active subscriptions, transactions, refunds, monthly statements and export. → Sales dashboard

Communicating

  • Email campaigns to your viewers, one-off or recurring (“this week’s new videos”), with a test send. → Create a campaign
  • Audiences: fixed lists, or segments that update themselves according to your rules. → Audiences
  • Tracking for every campaign, and the log of notifications sent by the channel. → Track campaigns

Scribe: your subtitles

  • Automatic translation of your subtitles into other languages. → Translate subtitles
  • Generation in the video’s language, corrected by AI, with the cost confirmed before you start. → Automatic subtitles
  • An editor with a timeline, undo / redo, and the lines where the AI hesitated flagged. → The subtitle editor
  • Review by someone else, without an account: they correct, you approve their suggestions. → Review
  • A glossary of proper names and in-house vocabulary, shared by the whole organisation. → Glossary
  • A subtitle style (font, colours, position, outline, karaoke) and burning subtitles into an MP4 for social media. → Burn subtitles
  • Export to SRT, VTT, ASS or text, several languages at once.
  • Chapters suggested by AI from the transcript, and titles, descriptions, summaries and keywords written for you. → AI writing

Analytics: your statistics

  • The engagement heatmap of each video: where the audience stays, where it drops off. → Engagement heatmap
  • A map of your viewers by country. → Geography
  • The sites where your videos are actually watched, address by address. → Traffic sources
  • Channel statistics that also cover sales, promo codes and subscribers. → Channel statistics

Settings: your organisation

  • Invite your colleagues yourself, with a join link or an invitation, and approve requests. → Invite collaborators
  • Custom roles, for the organisation and for each workspace: you choose what everyone can do. → Roles and permissions
  • Two-step verification for your account, and the list of your open sessions, which you can sign out remotely.
  • Notifications in the app and by email, set per organisation, workspace and channel.
  • Your API keys, created in the app with only the permissions they need, and public developer documentation. → API access
