How do I share a video through a private link?
Upload the video to Videas, generate a link, and send it. Your recipient installs nothing and downloads nothing: they stream it. You can add a password, an expiry date, or restrict playback to specific domains. The link can be revoked at any time.
Can I host videos for free?
Partly, and with no card required. You receive €5 of credits at sign-up then €5 every month, and the first terabyte delivered each month is free. That covers hosting and sharing a few videos regularly at no cost. Beyond that it is pay-as-you-go: Videas has no unlimited free tier.
How much does hosting a video cost?
There is no subscription. Storage costs €0.20 per hour of video per month, delivery €0.02 per gigabyte, and the first terabyte delivered each month is free. A hundred hours stored with two terabytes delivered comes to about €40 a month, before the free credits.
Can I build my own Web TV, on my own domain?
Yes, that is what Channels does. You build a branded video portal — logo, colours, categories — on your own domain with an SSL certificate. You choose who gets in: open to all, account-based, or paid. A channel costs €10 a month, plus €10 if you connect your domain.
Can I sell my videos, and what commission does Videas take?
Yes — per item, as a rental, or by subscription, through Stripe. Videas takes 15% of your sales and nothing else: no per-subscriber fee, no tier to reach. Payments land in your own Stripe account. You keep your catalogue, your prices and your customer relationship.
Where are the videos hosted, and who can reach them?
Your files and your viewers' data stay in the European Union, with no transfer outside the EU, and a dedicated DPO oversees their protection. Access is yours to set: public, password-protected, account-based, domain-restricted or time-limited. Videas resells no data to anyone.
How do I migrate from Vimeo, Wistia or YouTube?
Our team handles it, free of charge, from Vimeo, YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and others. We bring across the files, the metadata and the folder structure. BTLV moved 4,000 hours of replays off Vimeo with no interruption for its subscribers. Write to us to schedule it.
Which file formats, and up to what size?
Videas accepts the common formats — MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WebM — and your photos, audio, PDFs and documents too. There is no published size cap, and an upload resumes where it stopped if your connection drops. Encoding to multi-quality HLS, from 360p to 4K, is automatic.
How long does it take to get a first video online?
A few minutes. You create an account with no card, drop in a file, and get a link or an embed code as soon as encoding finishes. A wider rollout — SSO, brand styling, multiple spaces, migrating a catalogue — is planned with our team.
Who uses Videas?
