Who it is for

You teach in a room and you want your classes to carry on at home.

What it settles

  • A site in the studio's colours, on its own domain
  • Members of the studio get online access included
  • Everyone resumes their session where they left it

Products used

A yoga studio can put its classes online for students to follow at home, on a Videas channel in its own colours and on its own domain. Each class is free, open to account holders or reserved for subscribers, and members who already hold a pass at the studio open the whole catalogue without paying again online.

“Yoga Rivage” is a neighbourhood studio invented for this walkthrough. Maëlle Dubreuil teaches vinyasa and runs the site; Karim, Sofia and Hélène cover hatha, yin and gentle yoga.

Online yoga classes, but on somebody else’s site

A studio lives on its relationship with its students, and that is exactly what a subscription platform takes: the student becomes somebody else’s customer. And making the people who already hold a pass in the room pay again online makes no sense at all.

An online class site in the studio’s image

The site is in the studio’s image: logo, colours, typeface and its own domain. Students create their account there, and it is Maëlle who is told about every sign-up.

Each class is set separately: free, open to registered users, or reserved for subscribers. The first session of “Beginners” opens with a plain account; the rest is locked but stays visible, teacher and length included, which is what makes someone subscribe.

The studio’s members sit in a group that opens the whole catalogue with no online payment. Everyone then resumes their session where they left it, which is what turns a catalogue into a regular practice.

The same mechanism serves Atelier Lumière for a photography school, and Studio Bastide for a catalogue of films.

How it works, step by step

  1. The studio's site

Its logo, its colours, its typeface and its own domain. The page is laid out in bands, from the banner to the formulas, with no developer.

  2. A reserved class is still a shop window

The video is locked, but the teacher, the length and the description show. The class invites instead of disappearing.

  3. The formulas

A monthly or an annual subscription, and it is the studio that sets what each one opens.

  4. The student signed in

« Resume where you were » and the progress of every session started: you find your practice again without hunting for it.

  5. The Beginners path

Five sessions in order, the first free to anyone who creates an account. Enough to start before subscribing.

  6. The studio's members

A group marked for full access: the people who already hold a pass in the room get the catalogue without paying again online.

  7. The subscribers

Who registered, who subscribed, who belongs to the studio's group, and who came back recently.

What our customers say about us

Frequently asked questions

How do you offer yoga classes online alongside the studio?

On a site in the studio's name, on its own domain, where each class is set separately: free, open to anyone with an account, or reserved for subscribers. The studio decides what each formula opens, and keeps the relationship with its students.

Can members who already pay in the room get online access?

Yes, through a group marked for full access: the people who hold a pass at the studio open the whole catalogue without paying again online. Making them pay twice for the same teaching is the quickest way to lose them.

Does a locked class stay visible?

Yes, with its teacher, its length and its description. The video is locked, the page is not: the class invites rather than disappearing, which is what makes someone subscribe.

Can students resume a session where they stopped?

Yes: the home page offers « Resume where you were » and shows the progress of every session started. Finding your practice again without hunting for it is what turns a catalogue into a habit.

How do you get a beginner started?

Through an ordered path whose first session is free to anyone who creates an account. Five sessions in sequence, so a newcomer can begin before subscribing, and knows what they are subscribing to.

Monthly or annual subscription?

Both, side by side, with the studio setting what each one opens. Prices are entered including tax, and the visitor creates their account at the moment they buy.

Who sees the list of students?

You do: who registered, who subscribed, who belongs to the studio's group and who came back recently. They have an account with you, not on a third-party platform, which is the point of running your own site.

Can several teachers appear on the same site?

Yes, each class carries its teacher, and the site's sections can follow disciplines or teachers as you prefer. It is the studio's catalogue, not one person's.

Can students watch on their television?

Yes, through Chromecast or AirPlay from the player. There is no mobile app: the site works in a browser, on a phone as on a laptop propped against a wall.

Does the studio keep its brand on the site?

Logo, colours, typeface and its own domain name. The page is laid out in bands, from the banner to the formulas, with no developer involved.
