Credit Agricole: A Cooperative Bank at National Scale

Credit Agricole is one of the largest banking groups in France and Europe. As a cooperative and mutual bank, the group relies on a network of regional banks, specialized subsidiaries, and local branches employing tens of thousands of employees spread across the entire French territory.

In an organization of this scale, internal communication is a strategic priority. How can you ensure that every employee – whether working at headquarters, in a regional bank, or in a local branch – receives the same information, shares the same vision, and feels fully integrated into the collective? Traditional channels (emails, newsletters, memos) were reaching their limits against the growing demand for more engaging, interactive, and human content.

It was to address this challenge that Credit Agricole chose Videas to deploy an innovative, secure, and scalable internal Web TV.

Credit Agricole faced several structural challenges in its internal communications:

Messages from senior management were primarily transmitted via email and newsletters. While effective for factual information, this format fostered neither interaction nor team engagement.   • Rigorous access control so that each piece of content is visible only to authorized individuals.
  • Secure hosting compliant with the group’s internal protocols, with no data leaks to third parties.

These requirements made it impossible to use consumer platforms or solutions hosted outside a controlled environment.

  • Security side: only employees authenticated in the company directory can access content. Departures and role changes are automatically taken into account.

2. Granular Access Rights Management

Videas implemented fine-grained permission management adapted to Credit Agricole’s organizational structure:

  • Viewing rights: control by content category, subsidiary, or hierarchical level. Confidential videos (financial results, strategic directions) are accessible only to authorized audiences.
  • Publishing rights: only authorized employees can upload and publish videos, with a validation workflow if needed.
  • Administration rights: communication managers for each entity manage their scope independently.

This granularity ensures that each piece of content is visible only to its intended audience – an absolute imperative in the banking sector.

3. Security and Hosting Compliant with Banking Standards

The Videas infrastructure deployed for Credit Agricole meets the group’s highest IT security requirements:

  • Secure hosting in France on servers compliant with the bank’s internal protocols.
  • End-to-end stream encryption, for both storage and streaming.
  • No data shared with third parties: the platform operates in a closed circuit, without cookies or external trackers.
  • High-availability infrastructure: designed to handle simultaneous connection peaks without slowdown or interruption, even during large-scale live events.

4. Weekly CEO Live Streams with Real-Time Chat

The flagship feature of the Web TV is the organization of weekly live streaming sessions during which the CEO addresses all group employees live.

These live sessions are enhanced by a real-time chat module integrated into Videas:

  • Employees can ask questions during the broadcast.
  • They can react live to announcements and presentations.
  • The moderation team filters and escalates the most relevant questions to the CEO.
  • Sessions are recorded and available as replays for those who couldn’t attend live.
