Where VOD Factory falls short

  • No public pricing, everything goes through a quote

VOD Factory publishes no prices: a demo and a sales proposal stand between you and what it will cost.

  • A launch run as a project

Otto plans include 6 to 10 hours of onboarding: a rollout you schedule, not a platform you open this afternoon.

  • No self-service sign-up

The journey starts with a contact form and a demo, before you have tried the platform with your own videos.

  • TV apps reserved for the higher plan

The entry plan stops at a responsive website: iOS, Android, Apple TV and Android TV apps come one tier above.

  • Built for rights holders and TV channels

Otto targets film and series catalogs, with DRM, advertising and FAST channels: a lot to carry for training videos.

  • A range of four building blocks

Otto, FastLine, Ottomate, Ottomate Live: what your platform covers depends on the blocks your quote includes.

  • A broadcaster's entry ticket, not an SME's

Orange, Free, France TV, Rakuten TV: the offering is sized for those budgets, rarely for a small company's.

  • A destination service, not a player for your pages

Otto builds a platform the audience comes to: putting a video in your site or your LMS is not its ground.

Quick-start illustration for opening a VOD platform without a sales quote

Your channel open the same day

With VOD Factory, the platform arrives after a quote and 6 to 10 hours of onboarding. With Videas, you create an account, open a channel and publish your videos: the streaming site exists right away, in your colors, on your domain, with its SSL certificate. The pricing grid is published, nobody needs to send it to you.

Revenue chart for a VOD platform sold by subscription and one-off purchase

Subscription, rental or one-off purchase, through Stripe

Videas Channels covers the same sales models as classic VOD: monthly or yearly subscription, time-limited rental, outright purchase, a catalog mixing free and paid content. Payments run through Stripe on your own account, and a commission on sales replaces fixed fees. Your prices, your offers, your access rules.

Videas AI subtitle generation interface with multilingual translation

Subtitles generated inside the platform

Videas Scribe generates AI subtitles in more than 100 languages, straight on the video you upload, with automatic translation and a review editor. No transcription to order elsewhere and re-import track by track: the video arrives, the subtitles publish with it.

Videas media library showing a video catalog organised in folders

A complete video platform, not just a storefront

The public channel is only one of the outputs. Behind it, Videas gives you a media library shared across the team, a player to embed in your website, intranet or LMS, live streaming with automatic replay, viewing analytics and an API with its SDKs. The same library feeds your VOD platform and every other video use you have.

Frequently asked questions

Does Videas replace VOD Factory?

For selling video under your own brand, yes: catalog, subscriptions, rentals, one-off purchases, Stripe payments, controlled access. On consumer OTT ground, no: Apple TV and Android TV apps, FAST channels, advertising and DRM are VOD Factory features Videas does not cover.

How much does a VOD Factory platform cost?

VOD Factory does not publish its pricing. The Otto plans (Light, Standard, custom) are priced after a demo and a quote. Videas publishes its grid: €10 per month per channel, a commission on sales that includes payment processing, then usage, €0.20 per hour of video stored per month and €0.02 per GB delivered.

How long does it take to launch my platform?

With Videas, as long as it takes to create an account and upload your videos: the channel publishes on your domain with its SSL certificate, with no technical work. With VOD Factory, the launch is a project, with 6 to 10 hours of onboarding for your teams depending on the plan.

Can I try before committing?

With Videas, yes: sign up online, €5 in credits at registration and €5 every month after that, without talking to a salesperson. VOD Factory goes through a contact form and a demo.

What about mobile and TV apps?

That is the real difference. VOD Factory ships iOS, Android, Apple TV and Android TV apps with its Standard plan. Videas delivers on the web, responsive on phones and tablets, and casts to a TV set through Chromecast or AirPlay from the browser, but has no native app to publish on the stores.

Do both host in France?

Yes, and sovereignty does not settle this one: VOD Factory and Videas are both French vendors. The difference sits in how you get started, the published pricing, built-in AI subtitling, and everything Videas does beyond the VOD storefront.

My videos are used outside my VOD platform too. Is that a problem?

That is exactly what Videas adds. The same media library feeds your public channel, the players embedded in your website or LMS, your private share links and your live streams. Otto builds a streaming destination; it is not designed to carry the video of everything else you run.

Can an existing catalog be migrated to Videas?

Yes. Migration is assisted by our team: file transfer, organisation into categories and series, access rules put back in place. That is how BTLV brought over 4,000 hours of shows.

Is subtitling included?

Videas Scribe generates AI subtitles in more than 100 languages, with translation and a review editor, billed at €0.10 per minute of video processed. With VOD Factory, the platform plays your subtitle tracks but does not produce them.

Where is Videas data hosted?

In France, with native GDPR compliance and no transfer outside the European Union. The player sets no advertising cookies.
