Can Videas replace Brightcove?
For most use cases — hosting, player, analytics, live, video channels — yes. One limit to know about: Videas does not ship native Apple TV or Roku apps. A Videas channel is a website; it opens in the browser of a phone, a tablet or a connected TV, and native apps are still in development.
How do I migrate from Brightcove?
Videas offers an assisted migration service. Our team handles the transfer of your files, metadata and organization.
How much does Videas cost?
Pricing is usage-based: €0.20 per hour of stored video per month, €0.02 per GB of bandwidth. No subscription, no commitment. €5 free credit on sign-up, then €5/month.
Does the player work without cookies?
Yes. The Videas player sets no cookies or trackers. No modification to your GDPR consent banner is required.
Where is the data hosted?
All data is hosted in France. GDPR compliance is native, with no transfer outside the European Union.
Does Videas support single sign-on (SSO)?
Yes, on a channel: SAML and OpenID Connect. You then create viewer groups so each person only sees the part of the catalogue that concerns them. Outside a channel, access is set video by video — public, private, unlisted or password-protected.
Can I sign a data processing agreement?
Yes. Videas acts as a processor under Article 28 of the GDPR, and publishes an up-to-date list of its sub-processors, with each one's role and where the data sits. Any addition or replacement is notified to you, and you have a reasonable period to object.
What happens if a video is watched by ten thousand people in one day?
Nothing to provision. Delivery runs through an edge-cached CDN that absorbs spikes, and there is no viewer tier to buy and no quota to declare before a live event. What you pay for is the bandwidth actually consumed, €0.02 per GB beyond the terabyte included each month.
What security measures are in place?
Encryption in transit and at rest, access control and access logging, regular backups and a disaster recovery plan, environment segregation and least privilege. Videas keeps no card or bank details: payments are handled by a PCI-DSS compliant provider. The full list is published in the legal centre.
How many people can use the platform?
As many as you need, with no per-seat price. You separate teams, brands or projects into workspaces, each with its own folder tree and permissions, and you assign the admin, manager or viewer role. Statistics, for their part, are open to any member of the organisation.
